The invasion of Russia’s military in Ukraine, which resulted in Europe’s largest ground war in generations, has
profoundly impacted the lives of millions of people and has set off a large-scale humanitarian crisis. From a financial
standpoint, on the 24th February 2022, the Russian invasion has completely taken the market by surprise. The global
economy which has already been wavered by high inflation was suddenly faced with distressing new threats, which
consisted of severe energy shortage, an amplifying refugee crisis and the potential for a protracted war in Eastern
Europe.
