India, officially the Republic of India, is a country in South Asia. It is the seventh-largest country by area,
one of the most populous countries in the world (around 1.429 billion people), and the most populous
democracy. India became a more prominent emerging market following the globalization of trade and
other key economic reforms in 1991. Since then, the economy has been expanding consistently and
quickly. In the previous ten years, it fluctuated sporadically as a result of serious socioeconomic problems,
averaging to 7.1%.
